Our BABYZEN YOYO2 pushchair review

Hello! We have used the BABYZEN YOYO2 pushchair for several months now so thought it would be helpful to do a review!

We use the newborn pack for Baby H and overall have found the YOYO2 a great pram!

Why we chose it over other prams:

Lighter than other prams: With the newborn pack it is only 6.6kg (14.5lbs)! We don't have a lift so didn't want a heavy stroller to lift up and down. It also comes in handy for lifting the stroller on and off public transport!
Compact: It folds up to cabin luggage size and is great for our flat since we don't have lots of space in the hallway.
Recommended by friends: Several friends have used it and said it was great to use!

Here are our list of pros and cons for the YOYO2.

Pros:

Compact size: This makes it really easy to use the pushchair around London, especially on public transport. Since having a baby, I have noticed that the Tube is not very accessible as there are limited lifts and I end up having to lift the pram up and down stairs in the Tube or take the bus.

It's super handy that the pushchair is small enough to fit in between the seats on the bus so you don't have to get on at the back doors and leave your baby unattended to go to the front to pay.

Lightweight: The BABYZEN YOYO with the newborn pack is 6.6kg (14.5lb) and with the 6+ colour pack it is 6.2kg (13.6lbs). As someone who did not do any arm workouts before or during pregnancy, I found it easy to lift the pram with Baby H on and off buses and the Tube.

Ease of use: The pram handle is just the right height for Hubby and I and has smooth steering on pavements and smooth surfaces. It's also easy to push the stroller one handed. The 5 point safety harness is convenient to use and secure.

Quality: The materials used feel great quality and sturdy.

Newborn pack: You can lay your baby flat and it has machine washable covers. I love the cosy nest pad. It keeps Baby H nice and warm in the winter and if it gets too warm you can unzip it.

Grows with your child: It is great that the same frame can be used with the newborn pack or bassinet and then when your baby is six months old, you can change to the 6m+ colour pack (max user weight is 22kg) so no need to buy a different stroller when your little one is sitting up.

Travel friendly: Folds up to cabin luggage size which is great for travel and storage at home and unfolds easily one handed.

Adjustable pop-up canopy with two different opening positions: As Baby H gets more curious about his surroundings, the second position where the pop-up canopy goes further back has been great to keep him entertained on Tube journeys, instead of taking him out of the pushchair.

Cons:

Not one hand folding: It states that it is possible to fold down one handed in the advertising but having tried it several times, I haven't managed to do it. One main reason is that you need to press both buttons down to drop the handlebar. Unfolding one handed is possible but can be a bit fiddly.

Price: It's not the most expensive pram out there at £594 for the frame, newborn pack and 6+ colour pack but there are cheaper options.

Comfort: It’s great for pavements but not as comfortable when on bumpy surfaces and suspension could be better.

Wobbly wheels: When we walk very quickly, we noticed the front right wheel is a bit wobbly causing the pram to shake but once we slow down to normal pace it isn't a problem.

Storage: There are two bars underneath in the storage area which limits the storage space and having seen other pushchairs, a bigger under-seat basket would be better.

Canopy: The canopy could extend a little further as sometimes the sun will shine onto Baby H's face but we purchased the SnoozeShade and it fits snugly on!

Is the BABYZEN YOYO2 good for everyday use?

Yes it is! We use it everyday and it's still in great condition. It's perfect for us as we live in London and use public transport. We picked the Aqua colour and were worried it might get dirty easily but so far it's still looking great!

Is the BABYZEN YOYO2 worth it?

I think it is worth it if you are looking for a compact and lightweight pushchair for city living which is easy to manoeuvre, travel friendly and one that grows with your child. We have been very happy with the pushchair so would recommend to others!
