Our favourite kitchen items

We have been spending a lot of time in the kitchen since March this year and wanted to share our favourites!

Joseph Joseph Caddy Kitchen Sink Organiser

When we moved into our flat, we were looking for a kitchen sink organiser and came across the Joseph Joseph one that you can see in our photo below!

We’ve used it for several months now and I’m glad we bought it.  Previously, we had a simple metal wire rack for the sponge but that meant all the water drained onto the counter and left limescale marks which were so difficult to clean!

This organiser has a space below which collects the drained water and can be emptied easily.  I also love that you can dismantle it into three pieces and clean it in the dishwasher!

I saw that our one is currently 20% off at the Joseph Joseph website. The green and grey ones are 30% off at John Lewis!

OXO Good Grips Foldaway Dish Rack

In the previous flat, we had a wire dish drainer and it meant that we were always cleaning off limescale marks which were so hard to remove! When we moved into our own flat, we decided to buy a new dish rack which would make cleaning easier. We did some research online and came across the OXO dish rack in my photo below.

We like it so much we ended up getting it for my sister too! It is expensive but I thought the quality was quite good and we found that the spout works really well. It’s also easy to clean and I found the size just right!

Le Creuset Cast Iron Oval Casserole

This was a wedding gift and I found the casserole dish really useful as it is so versatile! We often use it on the hob too. I’ve also found it easy to clean and Hubby loves the colour.

I saw that John Lewis has a 20% discount on Le Creuset casserole dishes in the Black Friday deals! There are also cheaper alternatives and BBC Good Food has a review on the best casserole dishes for hobs and ovens.

Our favourite pasta bake is this Duck and Proscuitto Ragu pasta bake from Donna Hay after my colleague shared the recipe with us. It is so delicious! Definitely worth trying!

Instant Pot Duo Plus 9-in-1 Multi Pressure Cooker

We only discovered pressure cookers a few years ago when my Dad bought me one as a Christmas present!

I found that it makes cooking much easier, especially on busy days and now that we work from home. We have the 5.7L version of the Instant Pot Duo Plus. This size works well for the two of us because usually it means we have leftovers for another meal which is great when we are working from home and don’t want to be cooking every meal.

I also love how convenient it is.  I can prepare the food and once it is in the pressure cooker, there’s no need to stir or even stay in the kitchen!

Nespresso Coffee Machine

This was a recommendation from Hubby since he uses it on most days, sometimes multiple times a day!

He likes it because of the below reasons:

  • Easy to use
  • Large variety of flavours as it uses capsules
  • Cheaper than buying a coffee, but not quite the same taste as from the coffee shops
  • It makes a coffee really quickly
  • Low maintenance and easy to clean
  • Good quality

We have the Inissia model and I saw that it is on sale at Currys.

Hubby also loves his Zwilling double wall glass espresso cups that you see in our photo and the Nespresso Aeroccino. We bought the Zwilling cups at their outlet store at the London Designer Outlet at Wembley Park. There are some great deals there! I’m not a coffee drinker but I also benefit from the Aeroccino since Hubby makes me hot chocolate with it! My favourite hot chocolate powder is the Twinings Swiss Chocolate Drink. You can use it with cold milk too!
