Useful resources for completion day
Happy Sunday!
I shared our experience of what it was like to exchange and complete on the same day in an earlier post but realised I hadn’t shared all the useful resources we had used to prepare for completion day.
I’ve also found some additional websites – wish I read them at the time we were buying!
· HomeOwners Alliance: Completion: What to expect
There’s a really useful section on what to consider when deciding if you want to exchange and complete on the same day.
· HomeOwners Alliance: Essential house purchase documents
This was such a useful list that I printed it out and took it along with me when we went to collect the keys as we were supposed to receive a binder with lots of information about our flat so I wanted to check it had all the guarantee details for the appliances, electrical and gas certificates!
The estate agent didn’t enter the property with us because of the lockdown and by the time we realised that the binder was missing, they had already left! Thankfully, they dropped it off to us a few days later.
*Management pack may be relevant for when the property is leasehold or if you own a share of the freehold.
· SAM Conveyancing: What happens on completion day
This is such a detailed article, I really wish we read it before we completed!
It even covers common reasons for delays on the completion, the cut off time for completion and what happens if you don’t complete on time.
· MoveiQ: Completion Day Checklist: What To Expect
It’s written by Phil Spencer from the Channel 4 property programme Location, Location, Location and there is a handy completion checklist!
Hope you find these resources useful too!
